The Last Day

…of summer is finally here!!!

As a knitter, I always look forward to this day, but there is something special about summers that evokes freedom and outdoor activities missing in colder temperatures.

Here’s a glimpse of the NYC summer vibes I’ll be dreaming about as I huddle under the covers in January.

Beach Escapes

Rockaway Beach and Long Beach are probably my favorite ones in the city.  Both are easily accessible via public transportation and allow for a welcomed escape from the sweat-infused concrete jungle.

Afternoons in the Park

Despite being full of skyscrapers, New York has quite a few parks all around the city.  I’ve been spending much of my free afternoons laying around in the grass in Central Park and working on knitting projects.  The warm breeze and heat of the sun on your back is the ultimate relaxation.

Road Trips

When the weather does not disappoint, you feel so much more motivation for exploring areas outside of your city.  Hiking and other travel options are just a short drive from the city, making for great weekend getaways.  This year, I went hiking in the Poconos and visited Washington D.C., both for the first time!

What will you miss most about the summer season?
